All specifications of Simple One Electric Scooter

After more than two years in development, the Simple One electric scooter will be released on May 23. We rode a prototype of the One e-scooter last year, and its development has been ongoing for some time. To put it mildly, it left us speechless; nonetheless, the significant delivery delays may have dissuaded many potential purchasers.

Pricing of Simple One Electric Scooter

Whether or whether Simple can sell the One at the same low prices of Rs 1,09,999 (ex-Bengaluru, including FAME-II subsidies) for the base model and Rs 1,44,999 (ex-Bengaluru, including base model and extended battery pack) remains to be seen. So, waiting another month won’t hurt anyone.

The CEO of Simple Energy, Suhas Rajkumar, claims that more extensive testing was done on the One to improve its performance and range. It has been stated that the aesthetics have also been upgraded, but we will reserve judgment until we have seen the result.

In the Indian market, two-wheelers with high mileage are more popular. With this in mind, Simple Energy, a maker of two-wheeled vehicles, has developed a scooter they call the Simple One. A picture of a prototype of this scooter has been making the rounds on social media.

Detailed Description

The scooter’s IP67-protected, 5kWh Li-ion battery packs have a nominal voltage of 50.4V and are certified by the AIS 156 phase 2 standard. The added weight is necessary since the scooter must pass the AIS certifications.

Motor max power of 8.5 kW, with magnetization performed in-house. Data collection: your scooter will provide quarterly, monthly, etc., summaries of your ride history. Super stacking describes this phenomenon. Service after the sale is available through the Simple Energy app.

The electric scooter features various methods of communication, including 4.2 Bluetooth, Over-the-Air updates, Document storage, Mobile application, etc. The scooter has a memory function for storing favourite spots.

Delays in Delivery

Previous Delays in Shipments  With the release of their revolutionary new electric scooter in August 2021, Simple Energy, a pioneer in the electric mobility industry, made a splashy debut with the fittingly called “One.” Their shipments have been delayed five times since then. The original release date of December 2021 was pushed back to June 2022, then to September 2022, and now to April 2023.

There have been rumours that the scooter’s release date, May 23 2023, is imminent. The company is also rumoured to offer a discount of up to Rs 30,000 on this motorcycle. This scooter has a starting price of Rs 1,45,000. The scooter can be reserved through the company’s website.

Specifications of Simple One Electric Scooter

The electric scooter will have access to a 4.8 kWh battery pack. An 8.5-kilowatt motor is included. This scooter has a maximum range of 236 kilometres when completely charged. The scooter has a maximum power output of 11 horsepower and a maximum torque of 72 Nm. Features such as a removable battery, LED headlight, 7-inch touchscreen instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, and an integrated navigation system are included in this scooter.

The scooter may be operated in four modes: Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic. Brazen Black, Azure Blue, Grace White, and Namma Red are the four colour possibilities for this scooter. This scooter has been eagerly anticipated by its audience. The Ola S1 Pro and the Ather 450X are two scooters this product will go up against.

Simplified Unimotor

The 4.8kWh lithium-ion battery in the Simple One Standard model allows for a reported 236km (Indian Driving Cycle) range when set to Eco mode. Meanwhile, the maximum speed is advertised at 105 kph. However, a new extra battery option has been developed, and it claims an IDC range of over 300 kilometres with its 6.4kWh battery.

The electric vehicle manufacturer boasts that the One can reach 40 kilometres per hour from a standstill in just 2.85 seconds. The maximum output of the 4.8kW motor is 8.5kW, and its maximum torque is 72Nm. The One stands apart from the competition since it uses a chain drive instead of a belt.

A telescopic fork and mono-shock suspension system support the conventional underbone chassis. CBS provides extra safety for the scooter’s dual disc brakes. Finally, the One’s 12-inch alloy wheels should keep it steady enough to fly through corners and in and out of traffic.

A minimalistic energy efficient Scooter

After a full charge, you may go more than 300 kilometres. The One by Simple boasts a sleek, modern design that emphasizes minimalism. The triangular shape of the headlight is immediately reminiscent of the Ather 450X, so yes, there are clear design parallels. However, its body is elongated and slashed, and its tail is pointed. The grab grip is substantial in size as well.

The Simple One from Simple Energy comes standard with a Bluetooth navigation system, a 7-inch instrument cluster, and an LED headlight. In addition, you can use it to save important papers, make phone calls, and listen to music. Also included with the Simple One are over-the-air software upgrades, geo-fencing, tire pressure monitoring, and GPS vehicle tracking. A 4G LTE SIM card and Bluetooth are provided for wireless connectivity. The Simple One can hold 30 litres of stuff under the seat and tips the scales at 110 kg.

Wrapping Up

The customer’s need for a cheap scooter has been quickly swept under the rug by Simple One. Reintroducing the scooter after making the consumer wait two years with no solution is not worthwhile, even if the price increase could be grounds for a reduction in the FAME II subsidy. The only way to predict the demand for the company’s scooters is to release them to the public.
